D4 items remain an important reason for pushing into Diablo 4’s late-game content, but gear farming becomes much more enjoyable when group encounters work correctly. During Season of Death Awakening, party players have encountered several problems that could interfere with boss progression, obscure the battlefield, or prevent important objects from appearing.

For players collecting D4 items through repeated boss runs, these issues were more than minor visual glitches. A broken phase or missing progression object could waste an entire rotation, while a disconnected teammate might be unable to rejoin the active fight properly. Patch 3.1.3 takes aim at several of these problems.

A Direct Fix for Echo of Mephisto Parties

Echo of Mephisto received one of the most useful multiplayer changes in the update. Previously, players who entered an active encounter late could become locked out of the third and final stage.

This was especially problematic for groups where one person joined after the fight had already started. Instead of catching up with the party, the late player could remain stuck outside the final portion of the encounter.

Patch 3.1.3 adds a dedicated portal that lets late-joining party members move directly into the third stage of the arena.

The new system should make group rotations much more flexible. If someone reconnects or arrives after the fight begins, the party no longer has to treat that player as effectively locked out of the final phase.

Corrupted Reaper Summons Should Behave Better

The Corrupted Reaper also received a useful cleanup fix. Previously, repeated summons could leave the old boss corpse behind, creating visual clutter and potentially causing collision or spawning problems.

That might not sound serious until a group starts farming the same boss repeatedly. When the goal is to move quickly from one kill to the next, even small technical problems can disrupt the entire session.

The patch now forcefully clears the previous Reaper’s corpse when the boss is resummoned. This should give the next encounter a cleaner arena and reduce problems caused by leftover boss models.

For regular farming groups, this should make repeated runs feel more consistent rather than requiring players to work around strange objects left from the previous encounter.

Several Visual Effects Are Being Cleaned Up

Party combat can become difficult to read when several classes are using high-impact abilities at the same time. Patch 3.1.3 addresses multiple visual bugs that could make this problem worse.

One Warlock issue caused characters using the Dark Prison Chain Aura Variant to become completely transparent to their teammates. Losing track of a party member can be especially troublesome when everyone is moving around a boss arena.

Necromancer Shadow skills also had visual obstruction problems that could make the battlefield harder for teammates to read. The update addresses these effects so group members should have a clearer view during combat.

Druid Petrify also received a correction involving the Corrupted Reaper. Previously, the ability could deform the boss’s wings, producing an incorrect visual result during the encounter.

These fixes do not necessarily change how much damage a build deals, but they can improve how clearly players understand the fight.

War Plans Get More Reliable

War Plans caused another frustrating issue for cooperative players. When party members had conflicting modifiers active, the Artificer’s Obelisk could fail to spawn.

That meant a group could complete the required activity and still encounter a progression problem at the end. Patch 3.1.3 addresses this behavior so conflicting War Plan modifiers should no longer prevent the Obelisk from appearing.

The update also improves War Plan teleportation to Infernal Hordes on pre-Torment difficulties. This helps reduce situations where players are separated while moving between activities.

For groups that depend on staying together throughout a farming session, reliable teleportation is more important than it may initially seem. A few seconds of separation can easily become several minutes when the party has to stop and regroup.

Why These Changes Matter

None of these fixes completely changes Diablo 4’s party system, but together they address several problems that directly affected repeated endgame runs.

Players farming Diablo IV Items can now expect a smoother experience when late-joining Echo of Mephisto, repeatedly summoning Corrupted Reaper, using visually intense builds, or running activities involving War Plans.

The biggest improvement is reliability. Players should spend less time wondering why a boss phase is inaccessible, why an object failed to appear, or why a teammate suddenly disappeared from view. That makes the group experience feel closer to how these encounters were intended to work.

Patch 3.1.3 is therefore a practical update for anyone who regul
